Geography[edit | edit source]
The city of Lisbon is founded on the flatlands of Portugal, by the Northern Atlantic Ocean. Additionally, the town is founded at the mouth of the Tagus river, which water descends from the highlands of the Fuente de García, which is located in geographical Spain.
The foundations of the city of Lisbon is situated only 1 metres above sea level, making it relatively prone to flooding when the Tagus river overflows onto the surrounding floodplains, especially due to the fact that there are no trees near the city, thus making Lisbon prone to sporadic liquefaction.
